Where to begin…
So it’s been almost 8 months since I’ve performed on a stage. Covid has really made me rethink what i want to do with my life. In those first 2 months i guess you could say I was in denial. Basically I took a vacation and waited, hoping that Covid would blow over and I be back performing, but as you know… that was not the case.
Fast forward to now, after 4 months of teaching myself html, css and a bit of javascript I am on my way to becoming a web developer. Dancer to Coder, I know what your thinking, that's a huge jump. But let me tell you something, before i started dancing and performing I was working in a biomechanics lab and thinking of pursuing research! So jumping from different disciplines isn’t something new to me.
So here I sit, in front of my laptop, as i finish my first project recreating a page from a website design, and really enjoying the new career I’m working towards. Surprisingly, I think i really enjoy coding, and I think I’m actually good at it, granted what I am doing right now is no rocket science, it does give me some purpose and some goals to reach, so that is something amazing in itself.
I’m really hoping to go as far as i can with coding, and at the same time hold on the that performer in me.
This is the beginning of my story of becoming a web developer.
